Students in symphony orchestra are the leaders of Lincoln Park Academy. These students have been performing for at least 5 years and have dedicated much of their time to orchestra. This is a high school group that also represents the school at the annual MPA contest.

Materials

  • Black Binder (1"-2")
  • Shoulder Rest (violins/violas)
  • Slip Stop (cello/bass)
  • Rosin (specific to instrument)
  • Cleaning Cloth
  • Tuner/Metronome w/ tuning clip
  • Music Stand (for at home practice)

Concert Uniform

Each school concert our students are to be dressed in professional concert black attire. Please ensure that your child has everything he/she needs to look their best.

Girls

Long black dresses will be provided by LPA however, students are responsible for getting dresses hemmed to floor length.
Un-hemmed dresses are not acceptable. Girls will also need:
  • Black closed-toe flats (small heel is okay)
  • Hair should be pulled back and out of face
  • Jewlery should be modest and not bulky

Boys

Tuxedo jacket and tuxedo vests will be provided by LPA however, students are responsible for getting pants hemmed to appropriate length.
Un-hemmed pants are not acceptable. Boys will also need:
  • Black dress shoes
  • Black dress socks
  • White Tuxedo Shirt
  • Black Bow Tie
  • Hair combed and styled out of face
